Hi ,

I was told that on 9.0 we can simply do some port forwarding on a router to connect a 9611g or 9608 externally.

I tried it with my netgear router (that I've used in the past for vpn with a 9620 and worked well) .
I port fwded the RTP range listed in the manager as well as 1718,1719,1720 UDP
I then brought the phone to an external network and configured it to the public IP and it always hangs alternating between discover 192.168.10.40 (IPO) and 192.168.10.5 (VMPRO).
I also made sure external extension was enabled.

Do you see any ports missing or something i overlooked?

Thanks

If it's saying discover 192.168.10.40, then it's trying to reach the local address of the IPO. Clear the phone then re-enter the public IP address of where the IPO is located.

You also need to make sure that remote extension is enabled for that user.
