I have a customer that has a 8X24 that is expanding across the road and they are using fiber between the buildings. The Citel Mod_EXTender product sheet says it can be used with the 8X24 system.

I have worked with the MICS for years but I have never attempted to expand an 8X24. Can you add the same two port fiber expansion cartridge to the 8X24 that you use with the MICS along with a fiber station module, or is there a different connector required?

Thanks.

Have you or anyone else used the Citel (or a comparable) unit on an 8X24?

Thanks. I saw that drawing online but missed the network diagram that showed the optional copper connector on the KSU side only...that answers the question...thanks.

Thanks! This one does the job for it also shows which fiber connector it uses...

I found out some useful information from Citel support...

If you are connecting one of the Nortel dinosaurs (8X24) to an station module via fiber, the 8X24 basic is not compatible and the 8X24 fiber extender connects via copper while the remote end uses a fiber station module. I would have assumed it would have been copper on both ends, but that is not the case.
