8434DX set can't transfer calls

Does anyone have any idea why an 8434DX phone wouldn't be able to transfer calls other than the set just being defective. I have looked at the config of her ext. on our Definity switch and it appears to be config'd exactly like other's who can transfer calls. Thanks in advance.

If u try to transfer on the phone, does it work?

I would say a bad unit.

When you hit the transfer button does your secont appr light up? If not, time for a new phone.

Make sure you set "restrict last appearence" and that they have more than one free appearence.
To test just do a 'list trace station xxxx" while testing,
and it will tell you if it tried to transfer, and how it did or not.
Last resort, just physically patch it on a port you know is working, when that fails, you might have a defective indeed.

Sorry for the late reply I have been out a couple of days. I tried the suggestions posted and the only thing that made the problem go away was replaceing the set. Thanks for your responses. Take care
