Hello All,

I probably hosed something up in my Definity g3v6 switch. When making an outgoing call, our 8410D phones used to display the outgoing call number. It happens on every phone now. I hooked an asterisk box in tandem with the Definity and now all outgoing calls only display a=Outside Call. Is there a setting anywhere in the Definity that tells the phones what to display? I am lost as usual. Any help would be most apprecaited. Thanks,

it may be in trunk group form , you have set name display set to 'y' . you may need turn it to 'n'.

please try

Thanks, I just tried that and it is still the same. I also tried setting Send call number to n and send connected number to n and that didn't do it either.

I also came in early this morning and bypassed the Asterisk system and it still reads a=Outside Call. It also reads 501 on the bottom line which is my TAC for my trunk group.

I am sure it is something simple, but I am still stumped. Any more ideas? Thanks,

Poltergeek

Probably the user is not sending any CLI. For that reason your display will notify the trunk name. If there is CLI you will see the cli on your screen.

Thanks everyone, I just wanted to update this thread with my findings for future searches. It turn out that it was the "Outgoing Display?" setting on the trunk group. It was set to yes. Once I set it to no, it now shows the dialed number. This definity stuff is so confusing and convoluted in comparision to Asterisk. I will be glad when I finally get rid of the Definity forever. Thanks everyone!
