8.6 will not start, tape not paused

i did a search and most turn out to be check tape is paused

tape is not paused, everytime i go and start a job right away, it just go to schedule and sit there

any one know why this happens all of a certain
thx

Is the server paused in the device tab or media tab?

Have you tried creating a test job based on the same config? See if the same problem occurs.

I would replace the pvl.mdb and see what happens

crazy problem.... but here's something to check.

go to services and check if APC powerchute services are stuck in "starting" mode.

I had this problem 2 weeks ago and that's what was causing the job not to start.

APC announced an expiration of their Java certiciate on older versions of APC powerchute software... took me hours to figure this one out.

i managed to solve the problem

found the solution here

after deleting the drive, i can't find it, i had to rescan the tape drive
