8.1 Secondary server

Can I buy a HP DL360 (not from Avaya) and use it as my secondary server? I removed an IP500 expansion and have a server edition license not in use.

Has anyone tried using a non Avaya DL360 as a secondary server? Did it work? Anybody?

I dont see why not... i dont think there is anything special about the ones you buy through avaya. why not go for the Dell as its cheaper, for your secondary server. (I dont prefer dell, but in this case it could save a few bucks.)

Thanks for the reply. The Docs say if the Primary was a DL360 the secondary needed to be of the same type and my primary is a DL360. Plus this new company I am working for uses HP for everything.

It must be the same as in specs because of the fallback with a lot of extensions.
