Hi
Does anyone know a way of getting a (7204VXR) IOS file directly on to a PCMCIA flashcard from a laptop? I have a 7204VXR where the card is blank, and there is no valid file in Bootflash on the router itself.
At boot the router goes to ROMMON, as it cannot find a boot source, because all flash/PCMCIA is blank. I don't want to go into how we got to this state, but I currently do not have a working router to take these files from.
On the smaller routers I could do a tftpdnld from ROMMON, or do a boot from tftp, but I can't find a way to make that happen. Cisco's site says that the filesystem required on the PCMCIA card is type C. Can I generate that filesystem on a laptop, and then transfer the card to the router?
As a fallback, does a 7204VXR support an Xmodem load via the console?
Tanks
