6920 phones squealing

I'm replacing IP phones at a site and having issues with the 6920 phones with a high pitch squealing in the receiver. The speakerphone works... and if you press speakerphone, then switch back to the handset, the squealing stops permanently... however, when you call in or out, the other party can't hear you.

Odd issue... time sensitive... I think we got a bad batch of 6920 phones - all 3 that I've tried are doing the same thing.
 
What system and sw release are you running? In MCD the 6900 sets running MiNet mode have to have the firmware files updated. Look in MiConnect under SOFTWARE DOWNLOADS to get the files and installation instructions

I suppose you're entitled to your opinion, I'm just not going to suppose very hard.
 
This is running a MiVB 8.0 SP3 PR3 on an MXe-III platform. I only see a

We are getting an error on the screen during bootup of the 6920's - shows "Main unavailable", it continues to boot up.

The Tier 1 tech at Mitel is alluding to DHCP option 67 at fault... Ummm... that's used for the E2T card, right?


 
First level support at Mitel has some problems. What SW level are the phones running? You can find it in the IP Telephones Inventory form. If it isn't running at least 1.4.0.79 you are going to have problems with 69xx phones running on MCD 8.0

Okay, thank you... I was able to download and run the latest firmware available and the 6900 series phones are running properly.

I agree with you that first level support is lacking knowledge and experience. Tier 2 support isn't much better.
