I had a guy ask me if the 56xx series phones support http or tftp, and Im told him they support both, is this correct? I just want to make sure

Yes they support both, but it depends on which phone system you are using.

If your on IP office, they only support TFTP

Yes thats correct, I use MV_IPtel as TFTP/HTTP server and it works great and it runs as a server. It also can handle more sessions at once.

If you point your phones to the IP Office, which you should be, and leave the HTTP field blank but enter a TFTP IP address the IP Office will proxy the HTTP request as TFTP before sending it to the server (assuming you are using 4.2).
