I'm a wayward DBA who has somehow ended-up supporting a PBX. This situation can't last, but in the meantime, the business is asking us to route 5000 (or more) DID's through the G3Si to an IVR system. The IVR needs to know the number of the specific DID upon which the call was delivered in addition to the Caller ID. There are 2 trunks connecting the PBX to the IVR and 4 ISDN trunks from the PBX to PSTN. Not exactly sure where to start other than to ask "Is the above possible"? My main concern is whether I can pass the DID# and Caller ID through the switch to the IVR.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Yes, you can pass this information to the IVR, depending on the IVR system and type of trunks you use to tie the systems together. I would reccomend using an Avaya business partner to do the implementation for you.

Statements expressed in this post are my own opinions and should not be considered as the opinion of my employer.

yes, the above is possible. firstly, set up pbx-ivr trunks as isdn, and secondly, use ars/aar mechanism to route calls with specific did numbers over to ivr.

dwalin -- helpful ... thanks.

schned99 -- We'll definitely get our vendor to do the implementation, but I like to go into discussions with them somewhat armed.
