Hi again,

We are in the process or merging with another company and want to set up 5 didgit dialing. I have already indentified a digit when pressed would signal the system that call are to be directed to the new office.

i.e. I dial 8,6532 I want the system to automatically fill in the rest for me. 1-XXX-XXX-6532.

I am not sure that we have all the features needed to get this going, but wanted to see if anyone has ever done it.

Thanks

I set this up a while back using UDP and AAR. Add a UDP entry 8XXXX with a unique AARcode (say 228). Setup AAR analysis to point all 228 calls to a unique route (use 228 -- it'll be easier to follow the logic later). Build route 228 to strip three digits (the 228) and insert the 1-NPA-NXX.

thanks this makes sense, but am not quite sure on some of the commands to use to get this done. Do you have a quick and dirty list I can follow? Thanks

Do I need to change the dial plan? If so it does not seem that I can do this as ARS/ARR are not administered

Looks like Private networking is needed as a feature. Unless someone know a way around, it looks like this will be a no go.

I don't have Private Networking enabled, but I have UDP set up so that all 4-digit extensions starting with a five go to the aar table for code 225. Then, AAR code 225 points to route patter 225, which strips the first 3 digits (225) leaving just the extension and then routes out over my point to point T1 to an IP office.

when I try to set AAR in the dial plan I get this message "Shortcut to AAR/ARS not enabled on system-parameters special-application" Am I just in the wrong screen? If you could send the command that I need to type in as an example that would be great

I just took a look at my cutomer-options and noticed the UDP is not enabled. I guess it was not an issue when my predecessor purchased the PBX. It looks like the end of this.

Rather than using AAR, could u just use ARS? Put the numbers dialed in the ARS tables, and send it to a route pattern that inserts the office code before sending it out on the trunk.

There are hundreds of extension that would need to be added. This would not be an efficient way of doing this. Unless you know a trick.

I found a quick work around that works well on a small scale. Simply at a speeddial with 1-ANI-NXX~s. The ~s suppresses the last four digits and waits for the caller to enter the 4 digits.
