We currently use Avaya 4621 phones with our IP Office phone system. I noticed on Avaya's web site that the 4600 series phones are no longer listed under their list of phones, The 5600 series phones are listed, however. Are the 5600 series phones a replacement for the 4600 series? What are the differences between the 4621 and 5621 phone models?

Thanks.

46XX phones were compatible with both the ACM and the IP Office

56XX phones are compatible with the IP office only.

The 56XX are (I guess) exactly the same hardware as the 46XX, but have a firmware lock to stop them registering with the ACM

There was a significant price difference too and if I recall correctly the 56XX phones are only supported from version 3.0

Take Care

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

havent heard anything about the others. they havent come out with a newer digital series than the 24xx for CM. Same with the 56xx and 54xx, they havent come out with anything newer, so it will be a couple of years before they do anything.

The 5602 are going EOS august 3
For the rest i have no idea

But if you read the docs of R5.0 they mention a 1500 series

So it could be very possible that there is going to be a DS version of the 1600 series and when they finaly support the 9600 series in the future then i think the 5600 and the 5400 are going away

So for now they are still supported for at least 3 years(after EOS they are 3 years supported)
