4507 span config issue

I have my ASA in gi7/5 and my monitoring app in gi7/6. I have the following in the config on the 4507:

monitor session 1 source int gi7/5
monitor session 1 dest int gi7/6

As soon as I put the ethernet cable for the monitoring app in gi7/6 all traffic to the outside is blocked. When I remove it all traffic to the outside is passed.

What am I missing? Thanks.

Do you have an acl (deny statement) with the keyword "log" at the end of it in the path? If so, this will follow the acl rule for the IP space specified for all log traffic.

Thanks for the reply Burt. I made the following change to my config and got it working;

monitor session 1 source int gi7/5
monitor session 1 dest int gi7/6 ingress vlan 1 learning
