Good morning everyone,

I have a 406v2 runs 5.0 (8), the licenses IPO LIC R6.0 UPG; IPO LIC ADV EDITION R6, yesterday to try to upgrade to version R6, now I have a big problem is always off, on and off immediately I think I've done the right way to upgrade the licenses installed in the configuration file.cfg and recorded on the IP Office 406v2, then I put my computer with fixed IP, then utilize the manager to do the upgrade like the other previous versions. Now I have my IP Office 406v2 which starts and stops and I can not do anything.

Agredecer much if someone can help me. Will I have to send to avaya repair.

406's need stepping through 5.0.999 before going to R6, did you do this? It's necessary to rallocate areas of memory, if you don't it doesn't have enough memory to accept the operating firmware and can cause the issue you now have. You will need to DTE the system I to put it back on R5 then step it then go to R6.

This is how to DTE it: :)

Another "i didn't read the manual"

honey, i fried the IP Office !!!

Sarcasm, it's only one of the services I offer.

Indeed, but the top line of that page you posted says this:

"• Check IP Office Technical Bulletins
Check the latest IP Office Technical Bulletin for the IP Office software release before proceeding any further. It may contain information relating to changes that occurred after this document was completed. Bulletins are available from
And the step to 5.0.999 is documented in the Tech bulletin for R6, it's always best to read the Tech bulletin associated to any new release for this very reason amongst others :)
