Didn't find in FAQs or search. I've been asked to help another department still in OS9 to look at a way to set up a table for election results for the local county. They don't have any extra xtensions, so I'm wondering what the limit on tab stops in one text box is, and if there is a limit to a number of columns for one text box.

Thanks,
Donna

Answered my own question by launching old quark at home.

30 is the limit for columns - 20 is the limit for tabs.

thanks

Hi dmacster
Are you sure about the tabs at 20, I just did a page with about 40 or so, but the text box was 15" wide.

Would it be useful to ignore all tabs and simply use a monospaced font so that columns align simply based on the number of characters in the row? When I received election results, they were already formatted this way. It would have been extra work to add tabs and then format in QuarkXPress.

IMQ - I was pretty sure on the 20 tabs in 4.11

Jimoblak - I never thought of that but will certainly take a look.

Thanks to both.
