Am looking for an earlier version for windows to try before the big plunge $$$$ with so many helps and such out there on auctions I find it hard to identify as a first timer. Can anyone give me direction???

I bought an education version from journeyed.com. However you have to be a student. It's still about 900 bucks, though. You don't have to get Max. Try Ray Dream or Animation Master, there's a lot of em that don't cost that much.
