I am setting up a new Wyse thin-client behind a 3Com Superstacker II Hub that keeps taking out the Cisco switch port attached to the hub. In order to regain connectivity, I have to detach the cat6 cable from the thin-client to the hub and restart the Cisco switch.

What can be taking out this port? There are seven clients on the 12 port hub that are working fine until I attach the thin-client. I have tested the thin-client on the network at the cisco switch and it works fine.

Sounds like you have some sort speed/duplex issue with the thin client and the 3com . Match speed/duplex on the thin client and also the 3com . My guess is that the thin client is ok if it works on the cisco switch . Does the 3com support auto negotiation or does everything have to be hardcoded ?

I'll research the negotiating issue with 3Com.

Thanks
