I have a question regarding the IP routing on a Cisco 3750 switch. My scenario is below.

Port 1: 192.168.1.100 VLAN 2 Server A
Port 9: 192.168.2.99 VLAN 3 Server B

The uplink of this switch is to a Cisco 5500 switch. The RSM on the 5500 will route the traffic between Server A to Server B via the router.

My question is how to configure the Cisco 3750 to tell it that Server B is on the same switch with Server A and there is no need to go to the RSM.

What I am trying to accomplish is the bandwidth of the Cisco 3750 is 1Gbit. The uplink to the Cisco 5500 is 100 Mbit without going to EtherChannel.

Any suggestion is appreciated.

there is no way to do this if the subnet routing is already defined up at the 5500 rsm . you have 2 separate subnets and you need a layer 3 device to route between them . the 3750 can certainly route but you'll have to jockey around your network so that the 3750 can do the routing down at that level . I assume the 3750 is trunked off the 5500 to get your routing . If you have extra ports on both ends you could set up an etherchannel if you need more bandwidth down to the 3750.

The only other option is of course to stick both servers on the same vlan then they wouldn't go up to the router .

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, the 3750 is trunked to the 5500.
Yes, I also thought about making the two servers in the same VLAN to provide better thru-put.

Thanks
