I bought my own from secondary market. Around $1300.00.

We last payed $425. Our current bid is $385. A large BP bid $585 which blows the $1300 out of the water.

Obviously these are refurbed cards, but we get 1 year warranty.

Going from a 8700 to a 8720 CM. Does the new 8720 need a 4 post mounting rack setup due to the weight?

bid??? What are you buying these cards off of ebay? Bad idea if you are...

The ones I am getting are new or unused for that price. I have yet to get a bad one or to have one fail.

Phoneman2,

The 8720 servers are HP servers, and yes they are very difficult to mount in a two post rack. I just installed them this weekend at my site, and went to CM4. Upgrade went off without a hitch and I love all the new features.

You will want a 4 port HP rack to mount them in

Heck if you are getting them off Ebay for $400, you could have at least 8 fail instead of paying $3650.00 for a new one.

As long as you get a person with a good rating. You should be fine.
