I am trying to setup a console from scratch. It's something that I've never done before. Apparently the console that I purchased is already "activated" and all I need to do is press the little white button to enable the phone. It's not coming up though. It's supposed to show in the Night position, but the only light that comes up is the Split button and it fades soon after pressing it.

It's punched down to a one pair connection (is it a two pair set? I couldn't find info saying otherwise...) and the programming is as follows:

Based on what you have listed, the first thing you need is to assign it to a port.

Sorry, yes a port is assigned to it- 2A0721. This was just in one of my testing phases where I was trying to enable the phone.

I hate to state the obvious, but I did not read anything about an external power supply. Is there a power supply connected to it? Extra power is required to run that big honkin display on top. 1151b I believe is what the power supply is called, but you can hard wire -48 volts from the AUX block back at the MDF over to pairs 7 & 8.

You also need to set the console parameters.
Disp or Change console.

The "fading light when u push the button" indicates power problems of some sort. The console can be powered by a power supply underneath the desk or remotely through the wiring to bulk power supply.

There is a power supply that I have installed. It didn't actually come with the console. I would have expected the console to be hardwired to the Aux card but apparently my new company doesn't do things that way.

The power supply reads as follows (I am not electrically inclined so excuse me if I give too much detail on this puppy):
Avaya Model 1151B1
700227242
Input 100-240V~50/60 HZ 500-250mA
Output: 48V -400mA
Class 2 Output

When I status the attendant, this is the message I see:

What would I be changing on the console Bobg1? I have never programmed one of these before...

Oh! And there is a handset attached- it looks like the same type of handset found on the 6400 series phones. I also tried using a handset for a Call Master 3 phone. It didn't work either.

There is no 2 Prong Adaptor doohicky on it. It just plugs in like a normal handset which is also something that I am not used to.
