I have another client that has a 302D console. When they pick up the local copper, they hear an elecric buzz. At first I changed the port it was on. When that didn't work, I changed the card it was on. When that didn't work, I changed out the console. I also made sure to change the power supply since I was curious if that had failed. That also didn't work. So I decided to do some more tests. I can call out, but when I try to answer a call I still get the electric buzz. Short of switching the trunks that get routed to the console (which I haven't done yet) I'm not sure what else I can do. Any help or advise would be helpful. Thanks.

I could easily tell you to check the cable connecting the operator console to the PABX port for interference, but your second tests indicate that your loop start trunks routed to the console could be causing this.
It is possible that it is an incoming trunk to the console since it does not occur for outgoing calls.
I will suggest that you isolate the trunks routed the console and make test calls on them outside the PABX. This will allow you to pinpoint the exact trunk that is causing this. Call in your PTT operator when you have done this.

Do the G/S trunks come to Dmarc were you can put your butt set on and make a call out bypassig the PBX?. If you can and the ground hum is stil there the problem is the phone company!. If the problem goes away then the problem is the PBX.

If the PBX is the problem you might want to see if the attendant station cable is routed over a light fixture.

Hope this helps

Thanks to both of you for the suggestions. I'm going to give that a try when I go back.
