3 Quick CICS/Flash Questions 2

Hello Everyone!

I have a CICS 4.1 with the expanded software (4.1),with a 4-port flash hooked up to it and a single DS/LS card.

Question 1:
Is it normal that the first 8 DN's start with 2's and the las 8 start with 4's?

Question 2:
In the Line configuration section of programming, whatin the world does the "prime set" feature do?

Question 3:
If I have one line assigned to a set(DN 25)appear+ring, and to the receptionist (Dn 21) as appear only/no ring, sort of a supervised private line, then how do I get that line to go to VM if DN 25 doesn't answer his line?

Question 1. Yes I believe this to be normal and am unsure why, but you can go into config programming under the topic system programming to change the DN`s so they`re in order.

Question 2. This feature allows calls to be routed back to a prime telephone in case a call gets lost/forgotten somewhere via transfer/park/etc.

Question 3. If you`re wanting the call to go to 25`s mailbox, you go into capabilities and change the forward no answer to your voice mail DN. (Feature 985) You should also check to see the forward delay. You must then go into your voice mail programming under AA then lines. Enter that line number and set the answer to no.

If instead, you want the call to go to the AA instead of 25`s mailbox, you can set answer to yes, and make sure the number of rings is set to the same or less rings than ext 25`s forward delay.

The forward on busy will also override the AA if you`ve set it. Remember that all this stuff only comes into play when an ext has ringing lines programmed on it. Service modes can also cause problems with where the calls go if you have any modes set up.

But...
If I have 10 DN's ring on one line in peticular, and they all have VM boxes, who's VM would answer???

According to the "book" the first set that reaches the number of rings set in (terminals & sets) (capabilities)fwd no answer)(forward delay) first. from working on these if you have ten sets and they are all set to call forward to VM for the same number of rings then it seems to send the calls to one of the mailboxes randomly. if you set your AA to answer the line the at the same number of rings or shorter (feature 983)(AA)(Lines) then the calls will be handled in a predictable manner or set one station to forward to VM one ring less than the rest.
