Hi, where I work there are 3 digit codes that are used internally to dial long distance. It's a method of tracking long distances costs back to a cost center.Does anyone know how to change the codes? My boss is requesting that I do this and I do not know how. Any help is appreciated. thank you in advance and Happy New Year!

is the 3 digit codes entered after the number is dialed, if so it's done with auth codes ld 88 prt aut and prt aub.. you'll see the class of codes used and the codes, just out the codes one at a time, or all if they were put in with the auto command, the enter new codes... the class part defines what ncos/tgar your phone is changed to after you enter the code, the phone reverts after the call... if the code is entered after dial tone and that gives you a ld number it's in ld 87 prt cdp, dsc... let me know which method you need to change and i'll get a little more detailed if you need

Apparently nothing has been set up on the meridian as far as the authorization codes.Currently, unbeknownst to me last night the carrier company is allowing the auth. codes which are entered after the number is dialled.Do you have sample datafill that I could use so that we no longer need to get charged by the cx company for adding the auth. codes.Thank you so much and Happy New Year!

Sound like you may be using forced charge codes. If you are you should be able to enter any 3 digit number. Force Charge only looks at the length of the code. There are no tables like Auth codes. Try it with any 3 digit number?

hello mluckie1, I made a long distance call and entered 3 digits that were not ok'd by the carrier (the process had been we request the digits and apparently they set it up)and you were right it worked. Obviously this is not very good in terms of billing. We need to see how much each dept or person is costing in terms of long distance. Is there a way I can configure certain DN'S to use certain codes so that we know how much $ each dept or person uses.Do you know how to put in the class of codes used and the codes as John Poole said earlier? If so, can you show me sample code?Any help is appreciated.81Charlie I did not get the prompt SPWD but thank you for trying to help.

Hi again, in answer to John's question earlier, the call center currently dials in the auth code after the dialed digits. I guess load 88 is the way to go but please, could someone send me sample script?thank you in advance and Happy New Year to you all.

I found some info from previous conversations on this forum:
REQ NEW
TYPE AUB Authcode Data Block
CUST XX Customer number
ALEN 4 Length of Authorisation code 1 - 14 digits
ACDR YES/NO Activate CDR for Authorisation codes
RANR 0-511/ X Route for recorded announcement, X = No RAN route
ACLE No Authorization Code Conditionally Last Enhancement
BRST 0-(10) Number of initial bursts of tone to be given
CLAS 0 - 15 Program CLAS Number
COS aaa Class of service for this CLAS
TGAR XX Trunk Group Access Restriction for this CLASS
NCOS XX Network Class of Service for this CLASS
CLAS <CR> Next CLAS you may wish to set up <cr> = carriage return
AUTO YES/NO Automatically Generate Authorisation codes

is CLAS abbreviated for CLASS? If not, what does it mean? Also, the most critical is the billing so I suppose I should say Yes for CDR. Also, apparently I only have one CUST (CUST 0). Any sample script or information is greatly appreciated. What I want to do (or my boss wants)is for departments within the callcenter to dial certain codes while managers etc dial others. What is a good way to test this on only one tn? Thank you for any help.

The tone that you hear after dialing the number is generated by your carrier. You provide them with what 3 digit cade you would like for each dept and then they set it up.

If this is setup by the carrier they should be able to give you a list of active codes. If it is forced charge codes you can get this information in CDR reports. To setup Auth Codes requires many changes and it is system wide. Not that this cannot be done but if you do not have that much NARS/BARS exposure you may be better off contacting your vendor to implement those changes. Happy New year.

do find out if the carrier or the switch if asking for tones, dial the acod, you can dial without the auth code, or look at the mfrl= in the rlb for any number that gives you the auth code... my auth codes are after you dial a number that requires one, you can turn it off or on per npa nxx etc...
