Does anyone have any NWClient setting suggestions for a PC that is connected through a Cisco Secure VPN to our local office network? I have a user and soon more that will be telecommuting into work and I was looking for any suggestions on Client side settings for these users. We are a 100% IP only network running NW6.0 and have Win2k workstations soon to be upgraded to WinXP.

Thanks

Isn't there a VPN client that you have to use to connect into your private network? And it puts you on a secure tunnel and assigns you a private IP address and puts you onto your corporate network?

If this is the case, you use the Novell client just like you would if you were there at the location. Except you only need IP. You might have a problem locating the servers by name, but you should be able to configure SLP or DHCP to help provide this information. Otherwise, you can put the IP address of one of the servers in the SERVER NAME field in the client and it should work okay.

Everything works. What I am looking for is any tips on optimizing the performance of the connection to the server. Packet size, timings???? What I have found is that if the user connects to the server using CIFS then they can transfer and open files faster that through the NWClient. I would hope that the NWClient would perform better with some tweaking.
