Okay, I have a MCIS 0x32 with a T-1 Card in PRI mode, and everything is installed and working just great. However I was asking our provider if we had the capability to transfer calls like we could with our old pots lines. After some waiting, they said that it would be possible to perform that action if our system could do a “2b channel transfer”.
Here is a description of the service, someone calls the office and we pick up the call. After discussing the issue, we determine that they need to be transferred to another service department outside our phone system. So we would call the external service center, introduce the initial caller to that center, and then remove ourselves from the call. Supposedly the system will then know that we are done with the call, and send a single to the phone company switch causing it to connect those two calls outside of our system, and freeing up our two channels.
I’ve asked my installer, and he believes this is just the conf/transfer feature, but I want to be sure we won’t be tying up channels doing this.
Thanks
