2950 - 4506 Uplinks

Hello,
We recently upgraded to a 4506 in our DC with several switches uplinking to it via fiber (on different floors). Each floor has two (2) runs which terminate in one of two (2) Fiber cards on the 4506. My question is this, if we loose a Fiber connection, the switch and all ports lose connectivity to the DC, could we uplink the two switches via copper too?

Just worried about loops, and I am not sure if the uplinks could be weighted or setup for failover. Not really a Networking guy, but have done a lot with routers and switches in the past. So please be patient with me! )

If the length is within the Cat5 specs, you can use copper.. as for loops, thats what spanning-tree is for..

No issues with length. Do I need to make any changes to the Ports, or should it Auto sense and use the Fiber until the link goes down?
