Hi All,

I am pretty new with the cisco stuff and I have run into a problem that I can't find an answer to, any help would be greatly appreciated. I have a 2691 router that won't recognize a NM-1E module. When I run show diag I get:

Slot 1:
Unknown (type 67) Port adapter
Port adapter is disabled
Port adapter insertion time unknown
EEPROM contents at hardware discovery:
Hardware revision 1.1 Board revision F0
Serial number 29289945 Part number 800-02026-03
FRU Part Number: NM-1E=

I have had a Hssi module working in that slot before so I know that the slot on the router is good. I have also tried the module in a 2651 router and it recognizes it (IOS version 12.2). Could this be an IOS limitation? The version on the 2691 router is: IOS (tm) 2600 Software (C2691-IPBASE-M), Version 12.3(5d)

Again any help would be greatly appreciated

Beleive the NM's supported for that router are:
NM-1FE-FX
NM-1FE-FX-V2
NM-1FE2W
NM-1FE1R2W
NM-2FE2W

Not problem with IOS...problem with hardware.....just ran into same thing with my 2811.....had spare NM-1E that I thought I would use but same problem. Will work in the 2651 platform though.

I had a spare laying around too and thought it would work. I even called Cisco presales as well as checked on the list of available modules for the router on their website and both indicated the NM-1E was compatible. Guess I will look at purchasing a new module.

Thanks for the help!
