I have followed the procedures in the MultiVantage Documentation but it must not include enough information. I am getting the following indications when I do a display tftp-swerver command. File Status: No file in ACP memory File size: 0 and Filename in Memory: blank. Then after a short period if I issue the same command display tft-server the File Status changes to: TFTP error: TFTP server unreachable. I am able to ping the server address from the Definity. I am not sure if I placed the new updated bin file in the proper location or directory on the tftp server. If anyone is familiar with how to do this I would appreciate any details on making this work.

I have the same problem. This is what I have done:
1) Downloaded upgrade file to the root directory of my PC.
2) added my PC IP address to the IP Node-Names
3) Change tftp-server with the Node-Name of the CLAN card as the local node name and the name of my PC as the TFTP server.

I was thinking that maybe I needed the Avaya TFTP server, so I downloaded it, and turned it on, and tried the change tftt-server command again, with the same results.

I'm confused as to what is missing.

Hi Guys: I have overcome this problem with the help of my LAN Geeks. Your PC cannot be used as a TFTP Server. You need to put the file on the tftp server. In the node name ip screen place the node name and IP address of the TFTP server in this screen The name is not important the IP address is. Then on the TFTP screen place the info Sample below:

IP NODE NAMES
Name IP Address
clan01c01 XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX
default 0 .0 .0 .0
TFTPSERVER XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX

I hope this helps
ED

TFTP Server Configuration

Local Node Name: clan01c01
TFTP Server Node Name: TFTPSERVER
TFTP Server Port: 69
File to Retrieve: 2420_r4.bin
Once you complete the TFTP server screen the Files XFER will start and you will receive the success message Sample below:
File Status: File download successful
File Size: 236
Filename in Memory: 2420_r4.bin

1a2 to ip I seen it all

I did download the tftp server software from Avaya and set the outbound file to the pathname of the file that was downloaded from the Avaya website. The first time I tried it, I put the file in my root directory (C:\). When that didn't work, I put it directory with my tftp server program. Still can't get it to work. I'm pretty sure that I'm not setting up the tftp server correctly. That's the part everyone assumes. I AM running the tftp server from my PC, which is accessible from the CLAN of the PBX.
