I have 2410 I dug out of storage and don't know the history of. I'm trying to set it up on a S8300/G700 system. I get a brief download message then the display:
Code:
PHONE FEATURES NOT AVAILABLE

DOWNLOAD DENIED (01)

I have no dialtone and none of the buttons work. Other than this display, the phone appears completely dead. I know the port is OK because I'm swapping with my own desk phone.

Is there anything I might do with this of is it toast? Thanks.

you could do a 'change tftp", and setup the 2410 firmware on the Processor Ethernet, and then try plugging the phone in, and see if it upgrades... It sounds like an upgrade failed and someone put the phone in the closet. The current 2410 firmware is: 2410_R5.bin and can be found here:

you need to install a TFTP server and load 2410_R5.bin to is, if you google "3cdaemon", you will find 3coms, which is easy to use and setup

That's worth a shot when I get some time to experiment. (I'm not all that familiar the procedure and will need to research.) Would that upgrade all my 2410s? I don't know that I want to kick off a system-wide upgrade to try and resurrect one dead set.

Nope, it will not. You would have do do either a "change firmware station" and put the range of extensions you want to upgrade in, or, use the 'station firmware download code", that you manually type into each phone.

Just getting the tftp setup and pointed to a valid 2410 firmware file might recover your phone, if it dies in the middle of an upgrade, and is trying to finish/restart the process. It will not affect any other phones, unless you tell CM to do that.
