Hi all,can somebody give me the pinouts for a 2250 console please. I want to use a CAT 5 structured cable and a RJ45 to DB 25 convertor, so ideally I need to know which TN goes to which pins on the DB25. Regards Cliffa.

On a 25 pair, white/blue pair is TN #1. White orage pair is TN #2. White/slate pair is TN #3. The next two are a little tricky. The tip side of TN's #4 & 5 terminate on the red/orange pair, and the ring side of TN's #4 & 5 terminate on the red/green pair. This is on an amphenol cable. You would then connect this to the console cable, which is anphenol to DB 25. The third TN is not used by many locations (I know I have never used it), so a Cat5 would give you enough wires to make this work. I do not know the amphenol to DB25 pinout, but my guess is you can map that to the details below and get your connector.

So,
PIN
1st TN tip ==> 26
1st TN ring ==> 1
2nd TN tip ==> 27
2nd TN ring ==> 2
3rd TN tip ==> 30
3rd TN ring ==> 5
4th &
5th TN tip ==> 32 & 7
4th &
5th TN ring ==> 33 & 8

Hope this helps,

Scott M.

Thanks Scott. What are the power tn's for? When I searched this site it seems that a lot of people just use the first and second TN's , so I tried that and it works (4 wire).

They are used to provide power, as opposedto using a local transformer. I have always used the TN's for power, usually becasue I have TN licenses and card ports to spare (I only have 4 consoles in 83 sites, and they are going away over the next few years). The Succession software licensing might change some people's mind on how to allocate those licenses.

Glad to hear your set up worked.

the console works fine without the power, if the displays are not bright enough, then i add the power, either local or switch

Thanks Scott / John. The display seems to be fine, so I'll stick with it as is.
