2016S speaker 1

Is there anyway to totally disable the speaker on a 2016S set. It is only a one way speaker for hands free dialing, but our customer wants it totally disabled. These sets are the Nortel "Secure" sets therefore hfa is nto in the cls, however the speaker still works.

Keep in mind you probably won't hear the phone ring if you do that. If no incoming calls, then there is nothing to worry about.

yes that is the only way and it kills all ring tone.. might be just as easy to mark all lines scn.. the the speaker can't ring but will still give dialtone if a line is selected when the handset is on hook.. (give the user a analog station without a ringer)

Give him an analog EAGLE set for his TSG if he is so worried about his speaker. Cutting that wire may have further implications for use in a secure or controlled space, depending on your specific site needs.
