i was wondering how to go about disabling the speaker phone i used the HFD command but it just works as a mute for the speakerphone and i want to disable the speakerphone all together and i was wondering also if there is a command in a load that will disable all of the phones' speakerphones

HFD makes it "Hands Free Denied" (disables the microphone)

There is not a command to disable the speaker for on-hook dialing. You can't disconnect the speaker either - that's where the ring comes from.

Not many people will use the speaker if the microphone does not work.

thanks gene yeah i'm working in a secure area for these phones and they arent suppose to have speakerphone so i guess they will just have to buy new phones without speakerphones thanks again

When I was in the Army we would clip the one wire to the speaker. All digital sets have speakers.

Not sure how anyone clipped the speaker - that is where the ringing sound comes from.

You are correct Gene, we only had this set up in a small area and used unity II (500) sets sharing the same DN. The rollover line did not ring.
