Hello,

We have a 2003 server running TS that is having major problems. Here is what I have discovered so far:

1. No one can log on via TS (they could last week)
2. The "System Idle Process" in Task Manager is at 99% (looks fine to me)
3. Using perfmon it looks like the CPU and memory are not being taxed hardly at all
4. Looking at "Terminal Services Session 'Total Errors' " in perfmon however shows it pegged at 100%.
5. The server can ping the hosts and vice versa, and the server is also able to surf the web, browse the network, etc., although it does seem a bit slow
6. The event logs show nothing out of the ordinary
7. Doing a netstat on the server shows that it is listening on port 3389
8. It's been rebooted ;)

One of the first questions that should be asked is "What changed since last week?" Unfortunately there are several people who "update" an in-house application on this server, so there is no definitive answer. Anyway, the problem exists and I need to get it resolved. Any ideas?

Thank you in advance!

Jay

** UPDATE **

There is one error I noticed in event viewer:

Event ID: 1020
-The "Session Directory Computers" group is empty, you must add the computer accounts of Terminal Servers into this group for the Session Directory service to work properly."

Thanks again,

Jay
