2003 SP1 upgrade killed IIS iuser, it seems? 1

After installing SP1 on a W3K Advance Server, we cannot get to all websites on server. nor can we ping the IP address. Everything looks ok (services, settings and all . . . plus firewall is off). We have one clue, event 105 from IISADMIN saying there is a problem with the IUSER_server id.

 
Stop the IIS services, delete the IUSR and IWAM accounts. Restart IIS. The accounts will be automatically rebuilt and given correct permissions on the system.
