Hello,

I'm hoping someone can help me with this. It isn't pretty :)

I currently have an NT domain setup. I have my first 2003 server in place. I'm testing this with my workstation (XP pro). All client machines home directories are located on a NAS that is running 2003 server which is joined to my NT domain. One by one I will be switching the others over to the new domain. Here is where I'm stuck. When their drive gets mapped it's asking for a password. How can I set it up so they can getted mapped to there directory without this? Then once everything is in place I can secure it better. Any help would be greatly appreciated on this!!! I hope I gave enough info....

Thanks,
Tony

It just dawned on me. Now don't shoot me. I did set the 2003 up in mixed-mode. That's gotta be the problem, correct?

Well, mixed-mode is primarily for situation where domain clients are pre-windows 2000. I do not think that applies for a cross-forest trust.

Oh! And I thought that maybe I figured it out. Silly me! Ok. Back to the host file. I will keep you posted. Thanks again!

Quick question! On the NT side. Which section should I be adding the 2003 domain in? Trusted Domains or Trusting Domains?

If you want to access a share in the NT domain from a user account within the AD domain, then NT needs to trust AD. So, on NT side, set the 2003 Domain to TRUSTED.
