We have a server hooked up via fiber to an XRAID box. I know there are limitation to how big of a partition Windows can address. We currently have two 1.09TB drives mapped to the XRAID. I've looked all over and cannot find any info on size limitions for Server 2003 or Server 2003 R2. I'm trying to get some documentation to support the current config.

Please help with what you can.

Thanks much.

Seems like there is no danger with your current config.
It is quite common to run Windows 2003 servers against SAN-systems today, and those volumes can be pretty large.

From this url:

... it seems like the maximum size for a NTFS volume on a Windows XP machine is around 256 TB. Since the partition table on a disk only supports up to 2 TB, you have to create spanned volumes on dynamic disks to create local volumes of more than 2 TB. Since your volumes are localized on an external storage system, the storage system itself should take care of those things.

I know this is for XP, but 2003 shouldnt be any worse on max sizes.
