All:

I am running 2003 Access. Two things occur that I don't understand when I create a query:

1. When I "VIEW" a query with no fields specified, I see all my data fields.

2. When I run a MAKE TABLE query with only one field and view the new table, I see all the fields.

What gives? How do I create a sub table of an existing table when the sub has fewer fields than the existing table? I don't recall seeing that happen when I was working with A97.

Thanks,

Ron

menu Tools -> Options ... -> tab Tables/Queries
untick the "All fields" checkbox ?

Hope This Helps, PH.

PHV:

Tnanks. That fixed it but I had re-create my query.

One would think that once the option is selected or de-selected, it would apply automatically.
