I have Windows 2000 sp4. Drives C & D IDE. Both were originally Fat32. Due to the slowness of the computer system after serveral years I decided to re-format and install 2000 clean. This time I formated drive C in NTFS but left my data drive D in Fat32. I installed the drivers for IDE.

Disk management reckonises both hard drives and the format there in but My Computer and Windows Explorer do not see drive D at all. Can anyone please help?

Re-check in Disk Management. Is there a drive letter assigned to the D drive? If not, right-click on the relevant drive/partition, and select "Change Drive Letter and Paths". Add appropriate letter.

Thanks GOAOZ.

I thought it would be something simple that I had not come across before. Can now start re-loading my software.

Glad you've got it working ok! [thumbsup2]

I have almost the same issue. I had 4 internal drives on w2k server, all NTFS, all where dynamic. Know I'm using w2k pro,
( new formate) local drive is basic, can not use other drives. You see them in the bios and bootup, you also see them in device manager, but disk manager talls me they are
unreadable??? I dont want to revert and loose aLl my app's.

Please help
thanks

If you can't assign a drive letter to any of them as per G0AOZ instructions above, you may need to look into data recovery software. Though I find it rather strange than 3 drives would be corrupted at the same time.
