I have a domain that is 2000 mixed mode. I still have a 8 - NT 4's that I haven't had a chance to replace yet.

Can I add a 2003 DC to the mix or would that really cause me more trouble than help ? I realize a 2003 member serve will work, but we put DC's at all of our sites for performance reasons.

I'm asking b/c I have 20 locations and would like to replace an NT DC box with 2003 DC, instead of putting a 2000 DC in and then have to upgrade to 2003 DC later.

Thanks Much !

per MS, if you are in mixed 2000 mode, you can have 4.0, 2k and 2k3 dc's... that's not happening on my network, but is documented on the 2003 server site.

thank you for the quick reply... that was what I was hoping.

thanks !

And per MS, you must run the 2003 DC in "Windows Server 2003 interim" mode. This will support 4.0, 2000 and 2003.
