Here is my challenge:

1 Server
2 Workstations

Installed 2000 exchange on my 2000 advanced server. Problem is that I can send and receive emails internally but cannot receive any outside email? I know it has something to do with my DNS settings! Am I missing a DNS step. Timlau

Is your Mail Server behind an ISA Server? Assume nothing, question everything, be explicit not implicit, and you'll always be covered.

Where is your external DNS?? You will need to add an MX record in your external DNS.

MX record (Under Foward Look Up zone) has been added under the exchange servers DNS options. Still is not accepting incoming messages. Any other Ideas? Timlau

As felixfong suggested you need to have a MX record inserted in your external DNS (this will usually be provided by your ISP or the likes) so that any computer on the internet can resolve your mail servers name.

You should test this by dong an nslookup on your mail server from a seperate internet connection to the one where your mail server resides.

Sorry if you've already done this.

Hope this helps. [smurf]
