Hello,
And thank you Bob for your help in my last posting! I made sure to print the auto-restart for dual boot before starting this fiasco!
So I am trying to install an English version of Windows 2000 on top of a Chinese version of Windows XP without eliminating the XP (I am in China and my Chinese roomie needs the Chinese XP). Ultimately just want a menu at startup asking to boot Chinese XP or English Win2000.
So I start to install (copy is on a burnt CD I brought that has several other install programs, so no autorun). When I get to the Win2000 directory and run the Setup.exe file I get the following error message:
"This CD-ROM is from an older version than the one you are presently using. Setup functionality from this disk will be disabled."
After that, I get the usual setup screen, but the "Install Windows 2000" button is disabled (Thank you kindly, Mr. Gates!) so I can't continue. Is there an EXE file I can run from a subdirectory to install, or is there a way I can bypass this feature so I can have both OS's on my box?
Thanks in advance for any and all help!
Jason
