2 Windows 2000 servers not communicating

Hi,
I've 2 servers both Win 2k. On one of the servers (lets call it server A), I've some backup software running (ARCserve v9). each time I try to back up the other server (server B) from server A, server A fails to connect to the server B. I've a feeling that it could be something wrong with the native network connectivity for server A (because server B is running perfectly - confirmed). Is there anyone who can help me get out of this situation?

Can you ping Server A from Server B, and visa versa?

Any errors being logged?

Don't know about arcserve but backup exec needs remote agent to backup a remote server. Perhaps arcserve is similar
