I have 2 NR041 routers connected to one DSL modem via a Linksys 4-port switch.

Each router has it's own WAN IP address and unique LAN IP adresses.

Each router also has a server and 2 workstations with static IP addresses.

The First router runs a game server and supports 2 other user machines.

The Second router runs web/email/ftp/dns server and supports 2 other user machines.

How can I bridge the gap between these two routers? I have tried static and dynamic forwarding options with no success. I believe NAT is causing the problem but not sure how to fix it.

The problem I have is that if a user on the Second router (running the web/email/ftp/dns server) wants to view hosted websites or check email they can. However if a user from 1st router tries to access the same websites or email they receive the infamous "This page cannot be displayed" error.

Need a little more information from you.

It is not a NAT issue. And just adding a route either static or dynamic will not help as you discovered. There is no physical connection or bridge between these two subnets at the moment. Nor on its face is one needed.

The question then becomes why there is no DNS resolution on the game server if it has a valid WAN IP and Gateway? It would help if you could post here an ipconfig /all result from one of the workstations on the game router. Can you ping something like from a workstation connected to the game router? What is the WAN IP of game router, and what is the WAN IP of the server router?

What happens when you ping the WAN IP of the game router from the server router? What happens when you ping the WAN IP of the server router from the game router?

Something is basicly wrong with the TCP/IP connectivity of the game router.

Try the pings suggested above and let us know what happens. Also, do you have two static IPs from your ISP for DSL service? Or is the modem another router with DHCP capabilities that is handing out two dynamic IPs to the routers?

Finally, as an experiment, set the game router to obtain a WAN IP automaticly. Unplug it from the switch and take that cable end and plug it in the uplink port of the other router. Reset the game router. Try the ping tests above again and tell use what happened.
