Greeting here is what we have ..

Internet

Router-------Switch/Hub-------cisco3002 VPN client---- Users

|
Existing IP Network (with win2k server as Active directory)

the exisiting network has the ip range 192.168.1.xxx , including the server (DHCP runing on server)
the router is 192.168.1.1 (dhcp off)
The 3002 VPN client is 192.168.70.xxx (DHCP On) to feed the users

now , i want the user behind the VPN to be able to browse the server on 192.168.1.xxx

i could ping the server from the 192.168.70.xxx machine, but can't map network drive anymore ,, But from the server i can't ping either the VPN (192.168.70.1 nor any PCs connected to the VPN

is there anything that could be done to accomplish this ?

I really need this to get resolved badly.. thanks in advance

Check the filter list in the cisco appliance. It may be filtering ports. Routing seems ok, as you can ping from and to anywhere in the network.

I assume the Cisco appliance is actually the VPN server?

The Cisco device is a hardware client - it creates one dedicated VPN tunnel to another 'full' VPN device out on the internet.

Think I'm about to run into a similar problem with my lan )

Users gateway setting should be the router's LAN address. If you can't set default gateway on the DHCP server, then the user's computers should be manually set to the router's LAN address.
