Lovely start to my week, on top of a server drive going dead...I noticed some immediate issues with the pbx.

1-Calls into the company's number no longer hit the answering service first, they are going straight to the operator...who is going nuts.

2-Dialing the voicemail (7000) rings several times, and it ALSO gets routed to the operator.

These are some of the messages I am getting on the screen.

Code:

Thanks for the help. My trusty SEARCH function is down for repair again! =(

Already tried rebooting the entire thing. No luck. Infact, now I cant even get to a command prompt as I constantly get random messages.

If you rebooted the switch you may have to log back in. The ovl's mean that the switch is running midnights.
I think John meant for you to reboot the Call Pilot/voicemail and not the switch.

If the reboot still doesnt' work may have to go into ld 48 and stat your aml's etc.

If you don't have call pilot and have mer mail, may need to take the back up tape out of the drive and then reboot.

No Callpilot.

As far as I know, we don't have an internal tape drive.

I dont even get anything on the main terminal. Luckily, I can see all this crap with Procomm. But every time I type something, another error or message takes over.

the mid is because your running midnights, that will go away or at the command >halt.. the aml message may need to be addressed

You may want to look for an external Tandenberg tape drive. It will take a big SLR5 tape. I had an option11 with mer mail, and when it lost power mail wouldn't come back up, quickly because the tape was in the drive.

My consultant came in. My boss wanted him to come since he and I had our main computer that runs some of the machines in the factory go down...and we spent most of the day on that issue!

So he fixed the problems. I guess the slot the MerMail cards were in were disabled and/or locked up. So he reseated them and power cycled them.

Having him do a tape backup right now, since he use to do it many years ago...and it hasnt been done since like 2005. I've made a TON of changes in the year that I've been here!

He got laid off from his previous job, so he could use the money he gets from us anyway. Helps him brush up on his skills too. And I learn a thing or two in the process.

Try going to LD 48 and type ENL AML 9 ACMS. It put it into a auto establish mode. Then reboot Mer Mail. Callpilot does not have AMLs only ELAN.

Ah, it happened again. VM is being skipped.

.ENL AML 9 ACMS

This is what I get

Tried reseating the cards and rebooting it.

if mail is down you might need to contact your vendor. you've tried everything that i would try remote.. unless you missed a command or code, your may have a hardware problem

Yeah I missed something. And that was a few commands to disable and re-enable the VM.

>DIS AML 9
(reboot Mer Mail)
>ENL AML 9 ACMS
>AX
(wait a few minutes till it boots up and gets into MerMail)

Shortly after, voicemail was working again. And all notes copied this time!

I just wanted to add a note to this. What a great help this was when we had a Power Failure last night! I kept doing the commands and rebooting Mermail in the wrong order. Upon finding this THREAD and using the order of operations that SteveLord suggested Mermail did come back up but got "hung up" on one of the processes. If that happens, go back to the system and put the command in again and it will get Mermail to "keep processing".

>ENL AML 9 ACMS
>AX

What a great website this is! Thanks for all the knowledge!
