2 crosstabs side by side in the same report

is this doable? I tried copying and pasting the one to be right beside the other but it's giving me an error that I cannot paste across reports....

You can have multiple crosstabs within the same report, but they need to be inserted from within the report. Or, you could add the crosstab from a separate report by inserting it as a subreport into the first report.

Awesome LB - thanks for the timesaver! Now here is another problem I have run into before - Since in both crosstabs I am displaying my columns horizontally (not sure if that has anything to do with it). When I export to excel, it's prints so much of my data going down and then seems to put in some column headings down below which I don't want. Almost like a page header? Please help - thanks!

It seems to be printing the one crosstab under the other rather than beside it. I want it to look like one big long Excel sheet.

I can't help with the exporting issues.

It sounds like these crosstabs might have the same column, but with different values, e.g., different years or something similar. Are you sure you can't combine the two crosstabs into one?

I think so because I have to sum on 3 different currency amounts. Sum A and B are under column 1 and 2 and Sum C is just in its own separate columnn 3.

I think it has something to do with a virtual header? How do I prevent that from happening?

You would have to be much more specific than that, e.g., identify the row, column, and summary fields and showing the contents of any formulas used.

Crosstab 1 - to show gross and net amounts
Columns: Trx Yr
Rows: Client Number, Name, Entry Date
Sums: Current Amount, Net Amount

Crosstab 2 - to show module amounts
Columns: Trx Yr, Module Codes
Rows: Client Number, Name, Entry Date
Sums: Module Amount

I am displaying both horizontally although technically I don't need to for crosstab 1

Crosstab 2 should be displayed horizontally as there can be any number of modules, we never know.

Why not add the module codes column and the module amount into the first crosstab? I guess this would give you more detail than you want, but I don't think you are going to be able to get a side by side export with two separate crosstabs (although I might be wrong).

I have tried for a couple of days trying to add the module amounts to the first crosstab however, it is including the net and gross amounts in columns in conjunction with the module amount which I don't want.

I think my problem is solved if you can tell me a way to not have any virtual header appear?

I don't know what you mean. Do you mean you don't want the report to extend onto virtual pages on the right?

There are too many columns going across for it to fit on one page and it is wrapping them underneath.

I don't think CR will wrap crosstabs. It will instead create virtual pages to the right. So I really am not following you.

It displays the first say 100 records of my data with like 10 columns. Then part way down my excel sheet there is a break in my data with a few empty rows and then it displays my column headings over again.

CR does create virtual pages. It sounds like your version of Excel can't handle the number of columns or that this has something to do with exporting two crosstabs side by side. Try exporting just one of the crosstabs and see if it wraps.
