Well I have a Cisco 1841, and a BRI card hooked up to a ISDN line.

The line tests fine according to the telco, and it is up with correct SPIDs(as per below)
Isp is QWEST.NET, and they dont know much about ISDN at all.

The problem is, It does the dialing, connects, then 10 seconds later drops the connection.

It does not try to do any PPP negotiation at all, or even semm to try.

See Below for extra info as I have my config and debug and some status's:

Any Ideas?

No one?

Qwest is lost on this problem.

Under the BRI0 and di0 interfaces, try
ppp authe pap chap callin

Also, post just the debug ppp neg and ppp authe by themselves...

Burt

It doesnt get to the ppp auth, its like the isdn hard line is up, and then it dials, and the server answers, but just dead air.

the debug ppp neg and ppp auth show nothing

I have done ppp auth pap chap callin and its the same results. Plus the isp only supports chap.

I have not seen a setup like this...for example, I have used dialer maps and IP addresses, but never seen " isdn point-to-point-setup" before...
Also, I don't remember an actual dialer interface configured for ISDN. What is at the other end of the circuit? Another Cisco router with a BRI?
Your "sh isdn status" looks like layer 2 is fine, SPIDs are both good, but layer 3 (q931) fails, which I would think is lack of an IP address...here's the clue
" Layer 3 Status:
0 Active Layer 3 Call(s)"
Like I said, I am used to setting ISDN up like this

Burt

You do not have the remote hostname configured under int dialer1,
add this to the int Dailer1 config,
dialer remote-name dialhost (dailhost is whatever your remote server is called I think in your config it is junk)
also try increasing the the timeout period,
dialer idle-timeout 300.
I do not do ISDN that much but these two things are what is diffrent from the last config that I did that worked, good luck.

Well its and ISDN provided by qwest, then you dial into their internet servers.

The only info they give me is the spid's and the static ip's.

I should def up the timeout for the dialer, I'll check it out.

The other end of my circuit is whatever qwest has setup. (ISDN Internet)
