HELP!!! To make a long story short, I was modifying the serial interface configs (telnetted in from my remote site to the router in Virginia via the ethernet address) and when I got to the frame-relay dlci-interface information, I lost the router. I didn't do a "wr" on it at anytime and when I asked the remote user to console in, this is what happened:

rmon 1>
rmon 2> en
rmon 3> sh run
rmon 4>

and etc

Question: Looks like as if the router lost everything, including the IOS information. Will getting the router back and reloading the IOS back into the router solve the issue of getting rid of the "rmon" prompt and get this router back to where it can be salvaged and re-configured w/o any issues??

Does anyone know the reason for the router shutting down and losing everything like this??

Thanks

Caryn

try looking at the config reg. it may have been changed by mistake.

try changing the reg back to 0x2102 if it has been changed.

rmon> o/r 0x2102

Sounds more like the Flash has either been removed or is not properly inserted...

Try removing the Flash (Credit Card Metal Device) out of the Router and then firmly re-inserting it.

Then power cycle the router.

Now if the Flash card has been removed - you are in some trouble.
