1700 loses time.. 2

Hello

Ya know how you can set the time/date by using the set time bla:bla:bla date etc..

How come that loses it's memory when the device gets rebooted? Is there a way to keep that time permanent?

I haven't seen one lose time completely, but try setting an external time source.

When you set the time using the clock set command, that only applies there and then. When you reboot, the settings will be lost

To get constant accurate timing, use the 'ntp' global command and set the router up as an ntp client. For added security use MD5 encrytion and access lists.

Once the router is rebooted it will send a request for the current time without you having to set it manually
