hey guys....

just wondering if this is right....

i just upgraded my 406v2 to R5.0.15. i have just installed a 1616 for the first time. when the phone starts to log in it tells me that there is no file server??? i have put the address of the file server in when i do a "mute reset". it comes back up and still says "no file server" if i check under the network info of the phone in the menu field.

just wondering if this is right???

also, does the name not appear on the display of the 1616 or should it? i have the extn number, but no name.

thanks

What address do you have entered as the file server and what is it? PC with Manager/TFTP server or memory card in the system?

i put in 192.168.1.106 at the start up along with all the other ip addresses. the phone will boot and say "no filesvr address..

the phone comes up after a minute.... if i do a "mute view" i get 0.0.0.0 under file server?

what did i do wrong

You spoiled my gotcha moment Tom :-)

What is 192.168.1.106? Do you have anything on that address that holds the upgrade/bin files for handsets capable of Http?

No name in the display for the 16XX only for 54xx/56xx.

The setup for 16XX ip phones is the same as 56xx but the need to have the new files first.

No but they will be soonish, just letting people know as it seems a big deal to some people...enough to dictate what handsets they buy in some cases :-)

I haven't had the time yet, we're very busy at the moment.
I need to install 3 more systems before 2010.

I've got two, but they only take a couple of hours to build and configure they are both 50-60 user systems :-)
